| The Early Childhood Special Education Inclusion team include special education teachers, speech and language pathologists, occupational and physical therapists, social worker, nurse, psychologist and educational assistants. We serve children in a variety of settings and programs, including Head Start sites, childcares, private and community preschools, and district four-year-old classrooms. The special education team includes teachers and specialists based on a child's needs, the regular education teacher and parents of the student.
Our Team's Vision and Mission
The vison of the St. Paul Public Schools Inclusion Team is that the educational needs of all St. Paul children, ages 0-5, are effectively met in welcoming community settings.
Our mission is to collaborate to provide meaningful educational experiences for young children with special needs in community settings.
How are special education services provided?
Children with special education needs will receive services in their community settings through visits from the special education staff. During these visits, which generally range from weekly to monthly, special education staff work directly with your child and your child's regular education teacher using the regular classroom curriculum, modified or adapted as needed for your child.
