| The ECSE Inclusion team provides services for children in a wide range of settings, including Head Starts, childcares, private and community preschools, and Saint Paul Public Schools four-year-old programs and ECFE classes. Many of our families access the following programs:
Four-Year-Old classroom options in Saint Paul Public Schools
ECSE Inclusion staff serve children in a variety of four year old classrooms across the district. These classrooms are open for all students turning four years old by September 1st and provide a classroom environment for children to practice school readiness skills prior to entering kindergarten. Call the Student Placement Center at (651) 632-3760 to learn more about the options available for your 4-year-old child. You may also download an application at www.schoolchoice.spps.org
Family Education
Saint Paul Public Schools offers an Early Childhood Family Education program for all families in our district. Programs include a shared parent-child time, time for parents to participate in discussions with parent educators, and time for children to participate in a classroom taught by an early childhood teacher. Sites are located throughout the community. Contact the ECFE program at 651-793-5410 for more information or visit www.ecfe.spps.org
Head Start
Head Start and Early Head Start are comprehensive child development, health and social services programs for low-income families. Since 1965, Head Start has been serving the needs of disadvantaged infants, children, and pregnant women across America.
Over 1400 children, from prenatal through age 5, are enrolled in Community Action's programs each year throughout Ramsey County. Options include full-day, half-day, therapeutic and inclusion classrooms, and home-visiting programs. Families who meet our eligibility requirements and families with children with special needs are encouraged to apply.
